I started at Gerdemann and went to the end and then joined up with the Ya'Xaik trail. The trails were a bit muddy, and I found out that a walking stick is a handy bit of equipment to have on wet trails, thanks to my sister who recently sent me some, a gift I never knew I wanted, but I am glad of it. Walking sticks can come in handy I am finding out. Gerdemann was a bit of a wetter walk than Ya'Xaik was, but all in all for a rainy, blustery day it was all pretty calm and beautiful and all I really was thinking about was the bit of mud along the path here and there. Not really a big issue.
At the end of the trail I decided to head out into the blustery weather, since I hadn't really gotten very wet yet. It sure was windy and pretty rainy, with the rain blowing sideways, and as I walked back up the road towards my car the wind was at my back and wanted to blow me off my feet and down the road. I turned toward the wind and I felt like my ball cap might be enough to make me do a flying nun imitation! So, given the weather conditions of the day, I am of the opinion that this trail is a great walk during wet blustery days in our area.
